TL;DR: Working with Pamela was one of the best things to have happened to us in our home search experience. Pamela is a superstar and we are so happy to have worked with her. There were many highs and lows throughout the process but she made things better with her insights, responsiveness, and care. This was our first time buying a home and she has set a high bar for anyone else. She took the time to explain things we didn't fully understand. Even the rare times she didn't have an answer for our question, she would get back to us as soon as she had it. She was patient and stood by our long journey and we are forever grateful to her as we start this new chapter in our lives. The following provides a bit more insight into our process: We initially started our search with someone who seemed like they were still new-ish to the process. We saw a few houses but nothing that had that WOW factor. When we wanted to expand our search areas, she was unable (or maybe unwilling) to assist. She recommended us to someone in her agency who was more familiar with the areas that piqued our interests. Our second search lead us into Morris County. We fell in love with the area as it was during the fall season and the trees were starting to change color. It looked beautiful and we were hopeful we could find a place here albeit a little further from NYC than we would have liked but it was in our budget. Initially we were told we would be shown a mix of good and bad places just so we could get familiar with the process and find out what we liked and didn't like. We learned a lot about what we should look for, what to avoid, learn what we wanted and didn't want. She was friendly, knowledgeable and had decades of experience. How could we lose? However, just about every home we visited was more bad than good. The few houses we did try to make an offer for were already under contract or we were told it wasn't worth making a bid for. (Well then, why bother showing us the house?) Our pre-approval seemed a bit weird too since we were never told what we could get, just asked what we were budgeting for. After months of searching we were told it was better to take break since the holidays were coming up. Once the holidays passed, there was almost no communication and we were the ones searching for homes. We decided it was time to move on.Then we met Pamela, and it was a day & night difference. From the very beginning we hit the ground running. Once our new pre-approval was done, it was house after house after house. These houses got us excited again. We weren't confined to one area of NJ, she showed us houses throughout the state. We submitted more offers on our first weekend with Pamela than we did since we started our search. With the exception of maybe one meeting, we made an offer every time. However, it was not an easy process as the market was competitive. Pamela stood by us with every rejection but she kept us hopeful. At one point we had an offer accepted and thought we were finally going to see a light at the end of this tunnel. However, once the inspections started, problems started to show. It's okay I thought, we can fix this, we love this house. Once the report came in, it was a disaster. We spent more money getting more inspections done based on the initial report. In hindsight, maybe we shouldn't have gone for those other reports, but we still wanted this house and thought more detailed inspections would show us it wasn't that bad. After all that time and money spent, as well as a very unprofessional interaction on the sellers side, we decided it was not worth it.I expected the relationship with Pamela to change. I even thought our journey was going to come to a halt thinking maybe she was going to be angry, give short and un-helpful responses or be completely unresponsive, maybe she was going to drop us altogether but no, she stood by us and we continued our journey. After a few more weeks of great showings and offers we finally got approved for another home. Again, what a day & night difference. This was a much better experience all around. Yes there was a hiccup or two but it this was mostly on the sellers. Is it my dream home? Pamela is the GOAT! She handled everything and anything that was thrown our way like a champ. She is a realtor you MUST have in your corner, especially if you are looking for a forever home of your dreams! Before Pamela, we worked with multiple realtors who were the "best realtors in their counties" for 7 months, but all they showed were duds and were only available every other weekend for us. During those 7 months, we only saw duds and our realtors would never help us put a bid on a house we liked. After that experience, I knew we had to change our strategy and that started with connecting with Pamela. From the start, she made herself available every weekend and even some week nights to show last minute houses for us. She would travel to multiple counties to show us houses and her knowledge of each area was never ending. She was just as devoted to the process as we were and she worked nonstop for us. She also has an elite team of mortgage lenders, inspectors, specialty inspectors and lawyers that assisted us throughout the whole process. She is also the type of person that will support the searches for your houses, but will also tell you what she thinks about the house. She made the whole process a piece of cake for us!
